How should I receive compensation from a car accident?

A friend of mine did not have a car and asked if she could borrow mine. I had 2 cars so I agreed to let her use it. She thought the car was in reverse and hit the gas. She ran into a building and hit a brick wall. She totaled the car valued at. By law, is she required to pay me for the value of the car?

You can sue your friend for the tort of conversion. You can also sue on a negligent bailment theory for failing to take care of property owned by you which she possessed. You should contact a civil litigation or personal injury attorney to determine the strength of your case.

You could sue her, but it depends if she has the finances to pay you back.
